4th Week?!

Hola familia!! ?Como estan???

Well this week has been weird!  It actually went by superfast!  I can even believe that I legit enter the field in just like 2 weeks!<'! Next week we get Latina companions!

SO hmmm... what happened this week?  Let’s see it was super fun, but I got a new companion! Haha!

This one is Hermana Hull, she’s definitely very different from Hermana Robison.  She really misses
home.. . Sometimes I don’t know what to tell her.

Today was actually really jammed packed with all sorts of activities.  Well, actually this whole week.

Oohhh there was an earthquake!!?? Right.  We were on tour when it supposedly happened!  It was
pretty serious I think because everyone was talking about it.  But we didn’t feel it though.  Right now I am like in a time warp. It is weird!! Like this week flew by!! So many things happened I don’t even know where to begin.

Hmm.. well the new group of Latinos aren’t as cool as the last group!  They are actually a little rowdier than the other ones!

Sunday we had a devotional, and it was in English! Oh how i love the King’s English!! Ha ha! Anyways, the devotional was about temples. And there was a super sweet video on all the temples around the world.  They emphasized the rebuilding of the Nauvoo temple!! AWESOME, I WAS THERE!! And I just started thinking about that whole experience.  I don’t exactly remember how old I was but I do recall was standing outside the gates with mum and little man Jo (Lex). As we were standing out there I remember so clearly seeing a shiny limo.  This was President Hinckley’s limo.  Now I don,t remember seeing him, but I do remember mum.  Mum you began sobbing and cheering and so much joy was on your face.  You began cheering and you told me “that IS THE PROPHET!”  I will never forget that day.  I had a tiny teddy brown bear with a dark blue Nauvoo shirt on!  Thank you so much for being such an amazing example to me!! You guys are so amazing.  Thank you so much for all the amazing memories that you have given me.  All the opportunities you have put before me.  Sometimes I just try and not think about you guys because I get sad... but in reality you guys are the ones who always would bring me so much joy! And I know you guys are always there for me no matter what.  You, my very own family.. . . rock!  I honestly probably would not be out here if you guys weren’t so amazing.  I just look at my life and see how much joy and happiness (Well most of the time...hehe) that you guys bring me.  And I just want other people to have that exact same hope, love and support from the family! And the only way they can get that is through this gospel..  I’m not gonna lie, sometimes it is really hard.. and the only thing that really keeps me going is you guys.  First off I don’t want Nelly to meet me at the airport with a bat! Haha but seriously... I want to make you proud. Thank you for giving me all that I need to endure!!

Oh, the other day we were teaching our investigatdor y we were teaching him about la primer vision!  And yup, I had it memorized! Yeah the spirit was uber strong!! Yeah, first time I have felt the Spirit while teaching! whoohohoho

The temple was super sweet this morning! Yeah that felt like ages ago!! This day was a been a very long day!

That being said... we were playing soccer and it was Ëlderes verses Hermanas!! OH yes yes yes! We were winning by four points! I think maybe all the Latinos were going super easy on us, but there were some Nortes in that group! haha BUT While we were all having fun one of the guys got tripped and then a girl fell!  Yup.... so she twisted her ankle pretty bad. So that’s one down!... and then we stopped playing and played volleyball, yeah I always think of Lex when he played volleyball in middle school!  The minipower house!  Haha. But yeah, and then it was time for Hermana Duff to serve... she tripped and did something bad to her knee!! TWO HERMANAS DOWN!!!

This just in:  “Hermana Duff is going to be okay!”

hmm...

My Spanish is improving!! It is so weird because during lessons I am able to teach super well, but then when I read... oh man... disaster!!

So how are you guys doing?? Nelly how is your new job?? Is Elan married yet?

Lex?  How’s your English/Calculus teacher? Are you BFFS now!?!?

MUM what’s the latest on all the shows? When do you get to teach relief society??

Daddioooooo!  How is BYU?  Have you cooked anything gooooooood?

Could you guys send me some pics of all yáll?  Like a lil’ photo album?  I only have like 2 pics... super lame! haha

Patriarchal blessing?

Well church is true!! Los quiero mucho!  I hope you guys have a good week!! LOVE YOU!!

Con Amor,

Hermana Maynez

March 10: Getting a Routine at the MTC

Oh man!! sooo this week was pretty great!! LEts see.,. so much has happened, but at the same time we literally do the same thing ever single day!

First we start of with 6´´30 in the morning!  And there was an Hermana from Ecuador and she would walk up at like 5 in the morning and turn on all the lights haha Ohhh little Ecuadorians! Its funny because she was on the top of the bunk bed so the ladder would make a huge bang when she came down... so the rest of us decided to put floss and tie that sucker down!   It actually worked!

Then we have been having a really cool week with my comp!  Today was our very last day as companions :(  She ´becomes´a latina haha she will be leaving the CCM in the next two weeks!  Super sad because all the teachers told us that we were a solid companionship!  They told us we both really taught with the spirit and they could tell we really cared about out investigators!  That was a major boost! It is super hard to teach in Spanish because I want to say so many things, but my vocabulary is very limited. Its all good I will learn more!!

Lets see what else happened... Oohh we went out prosyletising (wow... idk how to spell that!)  But yeah we just went outside and talked to peeps.  For this time i got a different companion because Hermana Robison had already done that the last week and it was time for her to do it for FOUR hours!! Soo my comp was Hermana Hull!! It was uber awesome!  It was funny because our teacher, hermana gomez asked us all to make a goal of how many people we wanted to contact.  (This was for the missionaries who were actually in the field,,, we just got their info!) Anywho!  Everyone was making goals and i told Hmn. Hull that we should do maybe 5 or 6.  Then the elders decided they were gonna do that too!  But no no no!  we wanted to beat them!! Sooo we decided 7!  Yeah.  So we only had an hour to go talk to about 7 peeps... We had never every left the CCM gates which was holy bajollies i was so excited!! SO the first lady we talked to... nothing.  She was ´nice´old lady picking potatoes and she kinda got mad at us... she was telling us that we shouldn't be telling her which religion she should be and that there is one God.  Yeah I had no idea how to answer her!  And my comp did not have the slightest idea of what was going on hahaha But we pushed forward!  we looked and looked... Nothing.  WEll I forgot to mention that right before we left out I decided we needed to say a prayer.  And boy.  that prayer worked!  We ended up contacting TEN PEOPLE!!  Handed out 2 Book of Mormons and oh man just handed some pass-along card things and a lot of little pamphlets! SO we beat our goal and we became the golden contactors haha It was kinda really hard at first to approach people and the jump right into the gospel, but we found out that once you start talking about families,, they would almost all the time stop and listen.  I loved doing that!  So that was a great time!! Ohh even better we beat all the elders and then we even beat some people that contacted for FOUR HOURS!!!  So top notch team!!

What else happened... Ummmm.... OHHH my comp (my real one hermana robison) and I made a goal to contact someone outside the fence!! It was actually harder than you think!! Because it looks like we are in prison haha Yeah we decided that the >CCM is like a hamster cage.  We have little hallways and we get an hour of gym time everyday.  And yeah... BUT its all good.  So my comp and i yesterday determined it was time to do our goal.  The day was beautiful and sunny and the time was right!! SO THen we went and low and behold there was an old guy just chillin by the fence!  Hohoho perfect time!  We first said hello... he then SAID HELLO BACKKK! (THats a pretty big deal because people usually just nod and keep walking!)  iT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!we talked for a while and then both of us realized we didn{t have anything to take his information!! SO then we told him to have a good day annnd then we went inside.. I turned to my comp and said... we have to go back and get paper or something.  So we ran inside and i have some loose paper in my scriptures and we bolted back outside! He was still there whoooohhhhohohOH!! it was great because we got ALLL his info!! He was soo nice!  And for that we were rewarded with chocolate!  haha

Yeha so that was a pretty great week!! oohhh And today was especially fun!! We were able to go to the temple again! But this time it was only the nortes! All of the Latinos left early early this morning!! it was kinda sad because we all had actually gotten pretty close. They are all going to do so well!  THEN we were able to go on tour!! We took a tiny bus... K traffic here... OMG I don{t know how people don{t crash every two seconds!!  Insane!  We were able to go to a church and it was really pretty!  Then we went to the MUseum of GOLD!! Pretty intersting,, it was just like being back in jerusalem!! GO on adventures and learning stuff!

Yuppppp well I have tons more to write buuuut Here are some pictures!!

Oh mann... they feed us soo much!! Our days our like wake up, eat, study, eat., study more, eat.,  go to bed!!
These are pictures from today's tour!! There are 12 of us in the Nefi districto buuut today we loose 4 of them because they are going on their "real missions".
